Try to be away from other voices. Just dont EVER do it. Hold off on food treats until you really need them. It's easy to use physical punishment as the first route of correcting a dog's behavior. The goal is to encourage, not punish. With a treat or toy, face the dog and place it above his head and slightly behind the forehead, but still visible.Lets get one thing carved in stone right away - Dogs are not hairy fluffy kids. Some will get it fast, some will take ten or more or won't get it without further prompting. In really hard cases, kneel nd put the leash loop under one foot and slide it under the knee of the opposite leg, facing at a slight angle to the dog.As a last resort, for the stubborn or slow learner, give the command and at the same time push gently on the back near the tail as you lift his chin. There are alternate explanations for their behavior. It's totally counter-productive and won't help anyway. Simultaneously, gently take both the dog's forelegs and pull toward you, issuing the voice command. So, the dog hasn't evolved to understand why you're hitting them. But if these are not the results you desire, be prepared to change YOUR behaviour, before you try to alter the dog's. Beyond the need to establish that you are the alpha (leader), it has a number of benefits. Wait for the response. Now bring out other techniques. Follow those futile techniques and you'll harvest the pay back of a neurotic dog and you will be an unhappy owner. After several repetitions try just using a 'waving down' hand movement, palm toward the floor or ground. To command sit, stand and face the dog then make the command. You want the dog to associate the position with good feelings - his and yours. They don't associate cause and effect in the same way. "Site" the dog then move the treat to the ground just in front of the nose. When you have his attention move the treat slowly back toward the tail. At completion praise lavishly and reward.First, take advantage of the dog's spontaneous behavior. Every behavior
Wikipedia on dog training tips
Dog agility is a dog sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Dogs generally run off-leash with no food or toys as incentives. The handler can touch neither dog nor obstacles, except accidentally. Consequently, the handler's controls are limited to voice, movement, and various body signals, requiring exceptional training of the animal.
In its simplest form, an agility course consists of a set of standard obstacles, laid out by an agility judge in a design of his own choosing on a roughly 100 by 100 foot (30 by 30 m) area, with numbers indicating the order in which the dog must complete the obstacles.
Courses are complicated enough that a dog could not complete them correctly without human direction. In competition, the handler must assess the course, decide on handling strategies, and direct the dog through the course, with precision and speed equally important. Many strategies exist to compensate for the inherent difference in human and dog speeds and the strengths and weaknesses of the various dogs and handlers.
